This is a three week course which combines our Fiber Optics
Technician, Advanced Fiber Optics Technician, and FTTX
Technician Courses. This course is intended to prepare
prospective students to be competent in Fiber Optic
technology through classroom training and practical hands-on
disciplines including: Cable, panel and closure
preparation, fusion splicing, optical loss, reflection
testing and OTDR operations. A practical understanding of
the knowledge and skill requirements needed to design,
install, test and maintain an FTTx network . The student
will learn about specific technologies and recommendations
specified by ITU-T G.983 Passive Optical Network (PON)
standards from topology to active and passive components. Successful completion of this course may lead to certifications through the Fiber Optics Association.
Successful completion of this course will lead to credit
towards our Information Systems and Communications
Technology AAT Degree program. |
